what i'm up to
updated october 2026inspired by derek sivers' /now page idea. a quick snapshot of what's actually filling my time, instead of a polished highlight reel.
building
- → builders collective ottawa — a community for ottawa's builders that i cofounded with feyza. we run bi-weekly co-hack nights where people come to ship side projects, work on startups, or grind through assignments next to others doing the same.
- → vesper works — a small design + frontend studio i'm starting with a few people i trust. just getting it off the ground.
- → this site, naturally. always tweaking.
school
- → final year of software engineering at carleton. this term is mostly my capstone project (sysc 4907), operating systems, and a stack of labs.
learning
- → motion design and interaction polish — framer-motion deep dives, the small details that make a page feel alive.
- → typography systems — when restraint becomes a feature, not an absence.
- → designing for taste — picking apart sites i admire (like mubarak's) and figuring out *why* they work.
- → running a community from zero — events, outreach, sponsorships, and getting people to actually show up.
currently reading
- → designing data-intensive applications — kleppmann
- → a philosophy of software design — ousterhout
- → meditations — marcus aurelius
- → artificial intelligence: a guide for thinking humans — melanie mitchell
recently read
- → atomic habits — james clear
- → the alchemist — paulo coelho
- → the kite runner — khaled hosseini
- → a thousand splendid suns — khaled hosseini
- → the pragmatic programmer — hunt & thomas
looking for
- → new-grad software engineering roles starting 2027 — especially product-facing, design-engineering, or frontend-leaning teams. email me if you're hiring.
- → sponsors and partners who want to support ottawa's builder scene through builders collective.
